Limina series: On the Wing, an Intro to Bird Language with Red Sara, June 11, 2020

Birds are around us all the time…in forests, yards, parks, and city streets. Learning to pay attention to and understand birds fills our lives, nourishes our spirits, expands our sphere of awareness as we move through the world.

This 2 hour video course sets the foundation for understanding what birds are saying. We will learn whom to give our attention, how to tune in, and the basics of Sit Spot meditation. We will practices connection and honouring, 5 Voices theory, patterns of alarm, and deep sensory awareness.

No prior knowledge of birds is needed.

This video session will be recorded for all participants, including those who cannot make it live.

Date & time: Thursday June 11, 7:15pm to 9:15pm PDT

See below for more details.

This course includes an optional follow-up live video on Thursday June 25 to share stories and reflections, and have questions answered (play me those phone recordings of mystery birds!). Sharing stories is an integral part of this method of connection. Note: you will get more out of this program if you are willing to commit to a regular Sit Spot.  We will learn more about this meditation practice in the course.

This offering is part of the Limina Virtual Workshop series, an online connection of ancestral skills. Born from Crowsnest Wildcraft’s annual Limina Gathering, which was postponed from 2020 to 2021 to respond to COVID-19, we are taking our offerings online over the course of several months. Individuals may register for one or as many workshops as you like. Proceeds go directly to the facilitator and to Limina Gathering.

To register: purchase your spot on a sliding scale by choosing your price. That’s it!

You will receive first a confirmation email and later a follow-up email from the facilitator prior to the workshop.

Interpreting a sliding scale:
$25-40: If you are able to pay for “wants” and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, this price is for you.
$10-25: If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., you belong here.
$0-10: If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt, you belong here and you deserve a community that honours your price as equal an economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier.
