Over five days, you learn by doing: tanning three different full-sized hides into three different textiles. We offer this mentorship in 5 consecutive days or in 2 + 3 days.
OPTION 1 (5 consecutive days or 2+3 days)
1. Choose to make a bark-tanned fishskin leather or a rawhide (your choice)
2. Make a buckskin cloth (leather fabric)
3. Make a sheepskin rug
OPTION 2 (2 + 3 days only)
1.Make bark-tanned [deer/goat/sheep] leather
2. Choose to make buckskin cloth or sheepskin rug (your choice)
3. Make rawhide
The hides and skins above are provided by Fern + Roe.
If you have your own hide(s), this is the one offering of ours in which we work with you to tan your own harvested hides. If you bring your own, hides need to be provided to us at least two weeks in advance. We'll asses if they are in a good state for tanning. We then customize the five days at your skill level + hide size. (Yes, we can mix some of ours and some of yours, depending on the size of your hide(s).

Investment
$1399 CAD ($999 USD) + tax
All hides and materials included, including prep work for your BYO-hides.
If a second person wishes to tan their own hides, there is materials cost of $110USD/$150 CAD for three additional hides.
