*New!* The Anchor
Type of tool: dry scraper and softener
Use with: fish skins and any mammal hides,
It’s The Handheld II: a versatile little dry-scraper and/or softener that gets into ever nook of a hide, in between strings on a frame and easily used in your lap when hand-softening. Use with one or both hands.
Tool use: Keep edge super sharp while dry-scraping. When using more as a softening tool, you can let the edge get dulled a bit and apply more pressure once dull. Always move this tool in a downward motion to keep the bevel intact: “bevel up, scrape down.” Check out our IG stories for tool use + care.
How the Handheld + the Anchor differ: the HH touches more surface area with its wider blade while the Anchor busts open fibres with more gusto due to its shape.
Hand-forged with lathed wooden handle, by Hammarede Blacksmith of Sweden.
7″ long; 1.8″ wide; 1.25″ thick.
Individual tools will vary from photos.
Prices are in USD. Click the upper-right tab to view local currency. Tool orders ship on Wednesdays.
